Day of the Triffids

  • Bill is born

    We know Bill was born sometime between 1900 and 1950. The book never gave any date or year of when he was born.

  • Triffids are trffids are created

    No one really knows where the triffids came from but Bill thinks that Umberto's plane exploded and all the triffid seeds went everywhere.

  • Bill and his dad find a triffid in their garden

    Bill finds a triffid in his garden and is always studying and digging around it. One time he gets too close and gets stung

  • Bill gets a job at a triffid nursery

    This is the reason why he is so familiar with triffids, and why he gets anti-triffid gear right away.

  • Walter explains his theories of triffids

    He has different theories of triffids such as them being able to communicate and hear.

  • Bill gets partially blinded by a triffid

    Bill has a triffid mask on but some of the poison sacs explode and get the poison in his eyes. Thanks to Walter's fast reaction time BIll's eyesight can be saved

  • Mass blinding occurs

    Beautiful, bright, green flashes are in the sky. There are tons of shooting starts flying through the sky. These were what blinded everyone. Bill is disapointed that he isn't able to see them. But in the end he was saved by the triffid's sting.

  • BIll meets Josella

    Bill meets up with Josella, who is another person who can see. They get to know each other very well and try to stick together.

  • Bill and Josella go to University

    At the University they meet the colonel. They dicide to join with him and other sighted men and women.

  • Fake fire alarm

    Coker and his gang set up a fake fire alarm to catch sighted people. He needs people with sight so they can help with the groups.

  • Bill separates from his assigned group

    His group either left or caught the sickness that was going around. He left his group and found Coker at the University.

  • Bill leaves Coker to find Josella

    Bill leaves and is heading towards the Sussex downs where he believes Josella is. When he is driving he feels how bad it to be completely alone.

  • BIll meets Susan

    Susan's parents and brother have died. Her brother died from a triffid, so Susan has to avenge her brother by killing the "things"

  • Bill meets up with Josella

    He gets to the Sussex downs and finds Josella with 3 other blind people

  • Representative from Michael Beadly's group

    Someone from Michael Beadley's group sees Susan's fire that she set. He invites them to join the group
