Birth
Davy Crockett was born in Greene Country, Tennessee. He was the fifth of nine children. His fathers name was John Crockett and he was born in a small cabin. -
Learns to shoot rifle
At the age of 8 years old Davy Crockett learned to shoot a rifle. This skill would become very useful to him throughout his life. He was not allowed to go hunting because his father was afraid he might miss. From then on Davy hunted with his brothers instead. -
Enrollment into school
Davy Crockett turns 13 years old and enrolls into school. Their are roomers though that the first week of school Crockett ended up beating up the school bully . Also he played hooky and missed school most of the time.He always escaped his fathers punishment though. -
Runs away from home
Davy Crockett ran away from home when he was 12 -13 years old. while he was away (for 3 years) he learned to trap, track, and a few other skills.These skills would be important to him and what he was known for. -
Return home
Davy Crockett returned home after three years. His oldest sister first noticed him when he returned and she told the whole family of him coming back. His father owed money and used Davy to work in the farms of a farmer to pay off the taxes. -
marriage
On October 21, 1805, Crockett married Margaret Elder from Dandridge, Tennessee, but was cheated on by her. He recovered though from the bad experience in his past marriage and met Mary Finley. A year later he then married her on August 14, 1806, in Jefferson County. They lived in the mountains of East Tennessee for just over five years after that. -
First child born
Crockett's first son is born on July 10,1807. He then decides to name him John Crockett. this child would be the first of Five children. -
Elected into state legislatue
Davy Crockett was Elected into state legislature. Later on he was elected for the Comittee of Propositions and Grievances. Many people dont know the role Davy Crockett played in politics. -
Political
Davy Crockett tried to get in the house of representatives but the first time he tried he didn't make it. A few years later he tried again and he made it into politics. He was accepted into the house of representatives in the year of 1826. -
Death
Davy Crockett died in the battle of the Alamo in texas fighting. He and his fellow defendes were heavily outnumbered but held off the mexicans for a great amout of time. The goal of the defenders was to hold off the mexicans so the US could send troops to fight back. This was the first real battle of the mexican american war.
