David Bowie

  • PERSONAL LIFE

He was born in Brixton, London. His real name was David Robert Jones. He changed it to David Bowie because there was a singer called Davy Jones. He was married twice and he was two children. One of them is the filmmaker Duncan Jones (Moon, Warcraft).
  • NO HETEROCROMIA

A classmate punched him to his face when he was 15 years old. That’s why one of his pupils was dilated. People usually say he had heterocromia, a difference in colouration of the iris.
  • FIRST HIT

His first hit was Space Oddity. It was used by BBC during the broadcast of Moon Landing in that year. In this song, Bowie created the character Major Tom. He appeared in other songs of the singer.
  • BOWIE AS AN ACTOR

The filmmaker Nicolas Roeg chose him to star in his film “The Man Who Fell to Earth”. It was his first leading role and he performed an extraterrestrial. Ten years later, he became The Goblin King Jareth in “Labyrinth”, one of my favourite films.
    Other movies where he appears:
    - Zoolander
    - The prestige
    - Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
  • LAST ALBUM

In his 69th birthday, he released his last album Blackstar. This music CD has had many interpretations from the fans. In the videoclips Blackstar and Lazarus, he hid messages about his death, which took place two days later due to a liver cancer.
