    Dennett graduated from Harvard University, where he received his B.A. in Philosophy. This accomplishment did not stop there; he then went on to continue his education at the University of Oxford which led him to write his first book: Content and Consciousness.
  • Teaching

    In 1965 Dennett received his doctorate in philosophy and began teaching at a couple of Universities. He eventually moved back to his home state of Massachusetts. He went on to work at Tufts University in Medford, where he was appointed University Professor.
  • Cognitive Psychology

    One intriguing aspect was his work on cognitive psychology. So much so that he was appointed director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tuft. His ideas on how the mind is related to the body would continue. He went on to work with a team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to construct a robot that would have an intellect and a consciousness.
  • Human Consciousness

    In the early 90's Dennett was heavy into writing about his theories on consciousness. He went on to write three books and one essay about human consciousness.
