  • The Declaration of Independence

    It is the usual name of a statement made by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which said that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as thirteen newly independent states, and no longer a part of the British Empire.
  • Creation/ signing of the U.S. Constitution

    The Constitution of the United States of America is the supreme law of the United States.This had finally given the U.S. a government that had worked and is still used everyday.
  • Cotton Gin

    Cotton Gin
    Although the Cotton Gin was invented sometime in 1793 he never had gotten a patent until March 14, 1794. The cotton gin had made the production of cotton go sky rocketing through the roof. The demand for slaves had also gone up tremendously. Before cotton was very hard to pick while now with the cotton gin it makes it much more efficient.

    Louisiana Purchase
    This is the day the treaty was signed by Napoleon that the size of the U.S. had doubled and was the largest purchase of land ever in history. This event had gave people many new oppurtunities in their life.
  • Homestead Act

    This act was signed into law by Abraham Lincoln. This act had given 160 free acres to whoever wanted it that was 21 years or older. They would settle on this land for 5 years and then have to pay a small filing fee.

    The battle of Gettysburg was a huge turning point during the Civil War. It was also the bloodiest battle in American history. In fact it was three times bloodier than D-Day.

    The 15th amendment had been passed by the Congress on the date of February 26, 1869. It was then finally confirmed on February 3, 1870. This amendment had given black men the right to vote.
  • Wounded Knee Massacre

    Wounded Knee Massacre
    This event had taken place on December 29, 1890 and was when over 200 Native American men, women, and children were killed innocently. U.S. troops had thought these Native Americans were preparing for war but were actually having a peaceful ceremony.

    In a lot of people's opinions World War 2 was the most significant period of the 20th century. People say that the casualties in the war were around 50 million. Although there were many sacrifices in this war there were also benefits like gave women the priviledge to show what they were capable of and the economy grew very large.
  • Atomic Bombing on Hiroshima, Japan

    An airplane had dropped the first atomic bomb and had wiped out most of the city and had killed thousands and thousands of people on contact. From the radiation exposure more and more people had died.
  • Apollo 11 landing on the moon

    Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the Moon, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. This had given us a lot of information on the moon and had encouraged us to keep going on the adventure to the moon. It had also given us huge bragging rights on the Soviet Union.
  • My Birthday

    I was born in the Chester County Hospital at 10:59 P.M. My family includes my mom, dad, my two dogs and me. Something I am really interested in today in time is baseball and I tend to dedicate a lot of time towards that.
  • Eruption of Mt. St. Helens

    The eruption was the only significant one to occur in the 48 U.S. states .The eruption had caused earthquakes and steam-venting episodes, off and on over time. It had caused tons and tons of damage and had killed 57 people in the process.
