After Crabbe gym teacher finds him wobbling in the change room when he should be in gym his teacher finds out hes drunk, he goes to Crabbe locker to find a bottle of silent sam vodka. Crabbe is then escorted to the principal's office where he is let of the hook.

Crabbe starts to load up the station wagon to make his escape. After an hour of trying to load up the cannoe his parents get home early, they do not see him so he was a able to escape

after a nights drive he arives on the lake, hides the wagon and sets up camp.

after leaving food in his tent his camp is raided my a bear and he in his panic he pees himself and throws up.

after making a wrong turn crabbe goes off a water fall, nearly dead he is saved by a girl named marry.

after his fall marry patched him up and after a week or so he was able to finally start helping around the camp.

after Crabbe is all healed, he and Mary where sitting around the fire.when asks his to get a pack he mistakenly looks inside the wrong pack, this was Mary's secret pack, she snaps at him and hides it.

after deciding to stay with Mary for a few more months, he figures she should teach him some survival skills so he can be of use and survive.

weeks after Mary hideing her backpack, she takes it out and pulls out and inscridbed smoking pipe, she gives this to him to help him get over his alcohol addiction.

after Mary decided hes ready Crabbe is dropped off in the middle of the woods with only a compas and piece of bark with instructions and landmarks. he ends up competeing this test to realize he couldnt have gotten lost due to marry putting him on a peninsula.

Mary and crabbe raid a hunters cabin for supplys, when mary is caught the drunk men rape her, she gets away when crabbe distracts the men.

after losing the drunken men, Mary and crabbe stop for then night. when he comes back with fire wood, he finds mary at the bottom of the rock, she had jumped off.

after ariving back at camp he decides its time to look in mary's pack. he finds out she had a husband and he had been injured in a protest and she had taken him off life suport.

after Crabbe starts his journey back to civilization he almost gives up but when he realizes he is going to die he gets up and pushes through, though it started as a stinging pain in his fingers he eventufaly gets told he has extreme frosatbite.
