The purpose of this project was to build a new museum in London specifically to house natural history departments. The deliverable for this project was a gallery building in Romanesque style, constructed with terracotta, decorated with ornaments inspired by natural history. Terracotta was chosen as the material because it was believed it would be more resistant to the soot in the air of London. It was also moulded and fired like clay rather than carved like stone, which saved time. -
The Beehive was built as an extension to the current parliament houses to makes up for lack of space and resolve earthquake vulnerabilities. A plan was created by the Gov architect Fergus Sheppard with construction undertaken by W.M Angus and Gibson O'Connor. The beehive was not part of the original plans, however Sir Basil Pence convinced the Prime Minister of the time to go with a new and modern building instead of going with the original plans. -
The Big Buddha is a large bronze statue of Buddha, completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong. The statue is sited near Po Lin Monastery and symbolises the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and faith. The purpose of this project was to build a new art gallery in Christchurch to replace the former Robert McDougall Art Gallery. A competition was held to find a winning design. The building was the civil defense headquarters after the 2011 earthquakes, because it was built on a concrete raft slab which allowed it to withstand quakes. -
The Riverside market is an indoor 7 days a week farmers
market in the city center. Developed by the people behind the little high eatery and High street lanes it was constructed by Consortium Construction. The building incorporates recycled material from several iconic chch buildings such as timber from Lyttleton wharf, bricks from the Duncan Buildings on High street and two clocks from the old Moorhouse Ace railway building. -
Narendra Modi Stadium is the world's largest cricket stadium, located near the banks of the Sabarmati River. Gujarat Cricket Association decided in October 2015, under the visionary leadership of then-GCA President and current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to rebuild the stadium and make it the world's largest cricket stadium. The project was completed in February 2020, and the stadium can now accommodate over 1.3 lakh cricket fans. -
Melbourne 108 is a residential supertall skyscraper in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia's Southbank district. It is Australia's highest building by roof height, overtaking the Eureka Tower. The World Class Land project comprises of a 317m apartment complex with 1,105 flats spread across 100 stories. Brookfield Multiplex began construction on the amended Fender Katsalidis Architects design in 2015 and completed it in 2020.
