The Creeper System was one of the worlds first computer viruses. Created by BBN Technologies in the US, it was an experimental self-replicating (also know as a Worm) virus that would fill the computer to full capacity until it could run no longer. ANIMAL
ANIMAL, the first Trojan that was created by computer programmer John Walker in 1975 (Fun Fact: The computers being used at this time was IBM 5100). Walker was a smart man since once someone downloaded ANIMAL it would download something else called PREVADE which examined all the computers things. Brain Boot Sector Virus
The Brain Boot Sector Virus was created by two brothers (working at a computer store) Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi which started off by infecting floppy disks. The reason for them making this virus was that customers would make illegal copies of their software's so this would put them to a stop. The Most Friendly Computer Virus
BonziBuddy created by Jay and Joe Bonzi, was a purple ape that was a virtual desktop assistant who could tell jokes, sing, tell facts, and many more things (like Clippy) for FREE imagine that! Behind the lovely purple ape face of his he actually collected private information and contacts also contain adware. ILOVEYOU, The virus that caused $15 billion in damage alone. ILOVEYOU, created by Onel de Guzman, is a "Love Letter" that was sent to over 10 million PC's which when opened look liked a harmless text file however, users along with the globe were fooled. CODERED
Code Red virus was a worm virus that would display "Hacked by Chinese!" across webpages and in mainly ran inside each of the machine memories. This worm caused $2.4 Billion in damage and to prevent the virus the White House had to change its IP address so it wouldn't get affected. Sobig is a worm virus whos creator is unknown that caused $30 Billion in damage, taking second place as the most destructive computer virus. A thing to note is that Sobig had seven other worms with it Sobig.F causing the most damage. You Are An Idiot made by Andrew Regner, is a trojan virus that didn't delete files however was a pain to those how came upon it. MY.DOOM
MY.DOOM created by Craig Schmugar, was the most deadliest computer virus in history so far, causing $30 Billion in damage however because of inflation it actually costed $52.2 Billion in total damage. This virus started for a email to would worm to 1 in every 12 emails, which caused servers to lag and slow loading times which really worried Google. Sasser is a worm virus created by German computer science student , Sven Jaschan that affected Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000. MEMZ
MEMZ is a Trojan virus created by Leurak for a Youtuber called Dancot1for his series called "Viewer-Made Malware". It's thought of as a Joke-Trojan which would take a few minutes to start up but once it started would take control of your computer and open tabs, go on pages, and so on and so fourth. WannaCry was a ransomware that attacked the globally that spread through computers running on Microsoft Windows which the users files were held against them for Bitcoin to gain it back. Computer viruses wont go away however we can prevent them with VPN's and other such things. Hopefully we can prevent another MY.DOOM for the future if it ever happens again. -
Future Of Computer Viruses
The future of computer viruses will simply still be a role in computers and along with it they'll evolve. Worms, Trojans, Ransomware, and all those viruses are just gonna evolve, hopefully not as bad as MY.DOOM.
