    The initial announcement of the program was in 1988, but was officially released in 1990 by Microsoft. Bill Gates and Paul Allen were the original founders. Microsoft Word has become the leading word processor for Windows and Macintosh users. Most of us use Microsoft office on a daily basis for papers, presentations, and reporting.

    Google Search Engine
    Sergey Brin and Larry Page develop the Google search engine at Stanford University. We recognize Google on a larger level now even by just saying "Hey Google". This search engine provides information at our fingertips!
  • Hotmail-Sabeer Bhatia

    Hotmail-Sabeer Bhatia
    Launched on 4th July 1996. An Independence Day launch that represented Freedom. Hotmail offered ISP-based emails and access to your inbox from anywhere in the world. Invented by Sabeer Bhatia. Now known as Outlook, this invention created accessibility. We all have a web-based email provider on our phones, computers, tablets, etc, sometimes multiple! I personally use them for work and school on a daily basis.

    In 1997, the world's first MP3 player, the MPMan F10, was developed by SaeHan Information Systems. The world's first car audio hard drive-based MP3 player was also released in 1997 by MP32Go and was called the MP32Go Player. MP3 allows for large digital files to be accessed/compressed and has revolutionized the music industry! It also created mass piracy.

    Wi-Fi, meaning "wireless fidelity" is developed, initially covering a distance of up to 300 feet. Vic Hayes has been called the "father of Wi-Fi" Fun Fact: Frequency hopping played a significant role in WWII and assisted in developing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Hedy Lamarr helped assist the building blocks of these ideas. Inventor: John O’Sullivan. We live in a world where most technology is hooked up via Wi-Fi and most people feel lost without it.
