Tita was born on the kitchen table which was foreshadowing of her future. Nacha was crying because of the onions, and Tita cried when she was born. -
Playing Games in the kitchen
Gertrudis and Rosaura weren't very comfortable in the kitchen, but Tita tried getting them to have some fun. Rosaura ended up getting burnt. -
Pedro asks to marry Tita
Pedro and Tita are in love with each other even though they are so young. Pedro come to her house to ask Mama Elena if he can marry Tita. -
Mama Elena says to marry Rosaura
She won't let Pedro marry Tita, but she tells him that he can marry her beautiful daughter Rosaura. -
Pedro agrees
Pedro agrees to marry Rosaura, but not because he loves her. He marries her so he can be close to Tita. -
Mama Elena says no
Mama Elena says that Tita can't marry Pedro because Tita has to take care of her when she gets old. Mama Elena is a meanie. -
Tita is upset
Tita is very upset that Pedro is marrying her sister and cries a lot. Her tears get into the cake mix which causes Nacha to force Tita to leave. -
Things go bad
After people eat the cake they start to get a nostalgic feeling. They all start vomiting, and they have to postpone the wedding. -
Pedro tells Tita
Pedro tells Tita that he loves her, and that he is only marrying Rosaura to be close to her. Tita is overwhelmed with happiness. -
Nacha dies
Nacha couldn't attend the wedding because she was sick from tasting the frosting. She was found dead with a picture of her fiance in her hands.
