    Colonial Period
    Pocahontas was born in 1597 she was known for her involvement with English colonial settlement at Jamestown, Virginia.Pocahontas tried to promote peace between the Powhatans and the English colonists. She even converted to Christianity and married John Rolfe, a Jamestown colonist, a union which helped bring the two groups together.

    George Washington was born February 22, 1732 he was a commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War and served two terms as the first U.S. president. While he lost more battles than he won, George Washington employed a winning strategy that included signal victories at the Battle of Trenton in 1776 and Yorktown in 1781.

    the great compromise was an agreement that large and small states reached during the Constitutional Convention of 1787 that defined the legislative structure and representation that each state would have under the United States Constitution. Roger Sherman was responsible for creating the gret compromise.

    The goal of the woman's rights movement was to achieve voting rights for woman. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was the first woman to gather woman in Seneca Falls, New York. The principal organizers of the Seneca Falls Convention. Susan b anthony was a woman's right activist who devoted her life to fighting for rights for gender,racial, and education rights for woman.

    In April 1865 the 16th president Abraham Lincon was assisnated at petersen house, washington D.C at fords theater where he was watching a show. The man who killed Abe Lincon was an actor named Jhon wilkes booth he shot lincon in the back of his head while he was watching the show with his wife. There was also someone else involved with lincon's killing Mary Elizabeth Jenkins Surratt took part in the assisnation and was hang by the government for it.

    During the civil war there was a serious case the plessy v ferguson case. This case was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court issued in 1896. It upheld the constitutionality of racial segregation laws for public facilities as long as the segregated facilities were equal in quality a doctrine that came to be known as "separate but equal". which was saying even if the blacks and whites are seperate it's ok because they are still being treated equally.

    Emergence Of Modern America- Deep Dive
    During this time there was the African American Achiever's where many talented african americans came to light. Bessie Smith was an african american blues singer nicked named the Empress Of The Blues because she was the most populat female blues singer in the 1920's. She eventually was signed to columbia records and was the highest paid african american singer in her era. Smith influenced many african americans and uplifted there spirits.

    During the cold war there was a U.S senator, but he is known for alleging that numerous Communists and Soviet spies and sympathizers had infiltrated the United States federal government, universities, film industry. This whole incident it created the Mccarthism, whis is a vociferous campaign against alleged communists in the US government and other institutions carried out under Senator Joseph McCarthy. Many of the accused lost their jobs, although most did not belong to the Communist Party.

    During world war 2 there was the event D- Day. This event was the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history.

    Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense in 1976. This was 55 page constitution written for the need of independence. This document helped pave the road for The DEclaration Of Independence.

    9/11
    The 9/11 was a terrist attack by the islamic group al-Qaeda against the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. This was when terrist decided to hack an airplane and ran the plane through three buildings. Becuse of this event the government created the patriot act which allows the government to spy on what you search up on any device which is used to stop future attacks.
