    Soldiers were mainly involved with this event trying to make up for lost time during WWII. During 1945 to 1954 the birth rate increased by 300%. The birth rate rose by 20 million going from 9 million to 29 million. This event happened around the end of WWII and took place in the US. This event is important because the birth rate rose and health care got better. Baby Boom impacted society because health care for children and pregnant women got better. Many more children were also born.

    Joe McCarthy is a senator from Wisconsin. Joe McCarthy claimed he had a list of 53 communists in the U.S. McCarthy claimed that these people on this list were state department employee. This event happened in 1953. This event was important because it caused another red scare. Joe McCarthy impacted society because everyone feared communists. McCarthy was later fired and lost all his power
  • Kent State Massacre

    Kent State Massacre
    The national guardsmen and students of Kent State were involved in a protest. The students at Kent State were protesting due to Nixon's actions. The National Guardsmen showed up to try and stop them and end up killing 4 students. This event happened in 1970 at Kent Stae college in Ohio. This event was important because 4 students died and 9 were injured. 25 students and professors were put on trial and the national guardsmen were not. Kent State Massacre impacted society because of the murders.

    Gerald Ford was the congressman of Michigan for 25 years. He is mainly known for being the president. Gerald also pardoned Nixon. He became president in 1974 after Nixon had quit.
    Gerald Ford is important because he became the president after Nixon had quit, started trade with the Soviet Union. Gerald Ford impacted politics because he had pardoned Nixon after what happened. Nixon had been involved with a scandal called the Watergate.

    Jimmy Carter is the president who took over after Ford lost the election. Jimmy Carter was the governor of Georgia before he had become president. Jimmy Carter was most known for the Helsinki agreement and the 1980 Olympic boycott. Jimmy Carter had become president in 76 after Ford lost. Jimmy Carter was important because he passed the Social Security Act. Jimmy Carter impacted society because he had boycotted the 1980 Olympics causing athletes to outrage.

    George W. Bush was the Governor of Texas before he had become president like his father. George W. Bush was president for 2 terms before Obama became president. George W. Bush was president during one of the most tragic events. He became president in 2000. Bush is important because he started the no child left behind act. George W. Bush impacted society because he was president during 9/11. This event was tragic to many people because of the many children who had parents that worked there.
