The Truman Doctrine had to deal with Truman. He asked congress for 400 million military aid. This took place in March of 1947. This event was important to history because Truman asked congress for this money in military aid for Greece and Turkey to stop communism from spreading. Truman Doctrine impacted politics because this actually worked. Communism ended up not spreading because of this. -

This event was about Jackie Robinson. He was chosen to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He ended up becoming the first African American Player. Jackie went to high school in California and UCLA in 1947. This was important to history because he was a great baseball player. While playing he got Rookie of the Year in 1947. This impacted society because now he is remembered on April 15 every year and every baseball player wears his number 42. -

This event involved Sirhan Sirhan and Robert F. Kennedy which was President John F. Kennedy's brother. This was when Robert was walking through the kitchen. Sirhan Sirhan shot RFK with a .22 caliber pistol and three of the shots hit him. This took place on June 4, 1968 in Los Angeles, California at Ambassadors Hotel.This was important to history because this led to secret service protection for all future major presidential candidates.
