This event has resonated to today with current political problems still occurring relating to North Korea. This event was significant to both sides as it impacted both sides greatly.

    The Vietnam war was a very significant event in the cold war mainly for the Americans as well as the civilians of Vietnam. Over 3 million civilians were killed in Vietnam and over 50,000 US troops. This deeply affected the US as it was the first major conflict they had not been victorious showing the weakness in their military. This suggests that the US were willing to go far in an attempt to prevent the spread of communism. This event shows how the Cold War was not just a war of words.

    The Prague Spring was an uprising In Czechoslovakia where the Soviet Union took power of the country with a communist rule. This event was seen as significant to the Russians as communism was spreading and impacted the cold war by displaying the spread of power and the global threat of communism seen by the US leading to political tension between the two nations.
