The Vietnam war was a long costly and divisive conflict that pitted the communist government of north Vietnam against south Vietnam and its principle ally, the united States. More than 3 million people died in the Vietnam war. Communist forces ended the war by seizing control of south Vietnam in 1975. -

president Reagan had promised a position to Sandra Day O'Connor opened on the supreme court. He filled the opening with a woman. She was appointed from Arizona. She became the first woman to serve the supreme court. -
challenger space shuttle
Everyone thought of the space shuttle as a wonder of technology. The shuttle blasted into space travel was safe. the 2 rubbers O rings failed as a result of cold temperatures. Millions across the world watched the shuttle exploded. All 7 seven of the crew members of the crews were killed. It was the worst disaster in 25 years of space flight.
