the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on Japan. This is when the power of an atomic bomb spread to the world, and the reason why the S.U. started to make atomic bombs too. -

Communists seize power in Poland. The beggining of spread of communism. -
Chinese Civil War
The Communists win Chinese Civil War. The Chinese government officailly become communist and become closer to the S.U. -
The Korean War
The Korean War ended. The U.S. and other U.N. members fought North Korean forces. Korean splid into two different countries after this. One became communist, and one stayed with the U.N. -
Cuba
Fidel Castro becomes premier of Cuba, and installas Communist government Cuba became Communist too. The spread of Communism was rapid. -
China and an atomic bomb
China exploded uts first atomic bomb. Not only the U.S. and the S.U., but other countries started to make atomic bombs too. -
Vietnam
South Vietnam falls to Communist forces. More Communist countries, and some of them are still communist. -
The U.S. and China
The U.S. and China established diplomatic relations. The non-Communist country and Communist country became a little closer. -
Boycott by Chinese citizens
Over one million Chinese demanded reforms by the Chinese Communist government. Not every liked Communist way, and that was shown by this encident. -
The S.U. abolished
The S.U. collapse adn Boris Yeltsin becomes President of Russia. Since the Cold War was mainly America vs. the S.U., when the S.U. collapsed is when the war ended.
