    Was the migration of more than 5 million African Americans they traveled to the West and the mid-west. They went to states such as California to get Defense Industry Jobs in the cold war it took place through out world war 2
  • G.I. Bill.

    G.I. Bill was created to help veterans of World War 2. Provided many benefits to veterans. Veterans' hospital , provided for vocational rehabilitation,made low-interest mortgages available, and granted stipends covering tuition and living expenses for veterans attending college or trade schools. Nearly 9 million veterans received close to $4 billion from the G.I. Bill. With the G.I. Bill there are less homeless veterans.

    Result of a strong post war economy in which Americans felt confident they would be able to support a larger number of children ww2 ends man come home to their wives after years have passed so they decide to start family so their child will bare their names caused economic prosperity demand for consumer goods reached all time highs caused housing boom G.I bill helping veterans led developers to build cheaper mass produced housing home ownership increased by 50%

    On March 26, 1953 American Medical Reasearcher Dr. Jonas Salk announces he has a vaccine against Poliomeyelitis , the virus that causes the crippling disease of Polio (FDR had it)
    In 1954, Clinical trials using the Salk Vaccine begin nearly two million American school , A nationwide inoculation campaign began, New Polio cases dropped to under 6,000 in 1957, the first year after the Vaccine was widely Available.

    -NASA made it possible for Americans researchers to collaborate on and disament scientific advance, an opportunity by many of U.S. soviet scientists.

    John H. Glenn became the third American in space and the 1st to orbit the Earth when he successfully completed 3 orbits aboard the space capsule "Friendship 7". Midst of Cold War tensions and amid the very real fear that the Soviet Union was winning the space race. Glenn's accomplishment brought a sense of pride and relief to Americans and made him a national hero.

    "We choose to go to the moon", was delivered by jfk it was one of Kennedy's earlier speech meant to persuade the American people to support the national effort to land a man on the moon and return him back safely to the earth to help begin "the space race" against u.s.s.r. during the cold war.
