    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War was one of a series of wars between the British and French. France and Britain were fighting in Europe which spread to North America. British Colonists wanted to take over French land in North America and the fur trade in the French held territory. This event is important because the British began taxing the colonists to pay for the war and took most of the French and took most of the French land which started the American Revolution.

    Remember the Ladies (letters between John and Abigail Adam)
    Abigail Adams asked her husband to remember the rights of women when they write the Declaration of Independence. She asked him not to put too much power into the hands of married men and warns him of the passion of women, their ability to riot if they are still not given a voice in governance. She points out the nature of men: tyrannical, vicious and cruel. This is an impact on American history because these letters because it eventually encouraged America to give their women rights.

    The Articles of Confederation was the first governing document of the United States of America. It was written to give the U.S. some form of government to take over if they happened to win the revolution. This even was an impact to the growing America because the creators learned from they mistakes they made to write a better document, the U.S. Constitution.

    Constitutional Convention
    The Constitutional Convention was held at the Independence Hall and consisted of 55 delegates whose purpose was to strengthen the Articles of Confederation. This was a very important event because it led to the creation of the Constitution which fixed the flaws in the Articles of Confederation. For example, trade was regulated and an executive branch was created.

It is the framework for the organization of the United States government and for the relationship of the federal government with the states, citizens, and all people within the United States. This was an impact to the growth of America because it basically founded our American Government which we still go by today.

    The bill of rights is the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, which limit the power of the U.S. federal government. These rights were an impact because these limitations serve to protect the natural rights of liberty and property including freedoms of religion, speech, a free press, free assembly, and free association, as well as the right to keep and bear arms.

    The Second Great Awakening was a religous movement where religion was brought back for Methodists, Baptists, and Presbyterians. This event was an impact to the growth of America because as the religious changes spread throughout the nation, many churches were constructed and societies were brought together.

    The Louisiana Purchase was the largest land acquisition in American History. The Louisiana Purchase was a deal made between Spain, France and the United States. The territory was sold, bought, and owned by many different groups at different times throughout history. This event was a great impact to the growing America because it roughly doubled the size of the United States and gave us firm control of the Mississippi River, an important transportation source.

    The Manifest Destiny, created by John O'Sullivan, gave America the right to expand and spread our beliefs of freedom and democracy across North America. The Manifest Destiny was an impact to the history of America because this event brought democracy to many countries, which is a government run by the people. After the creation of the manifest destiny, the U.S. gained more land from Mexico and Great Britain.

    After the discovery of Gold in California by James Marshall in 1848, people from all over the world came to seek their fortunes.
    This event was an impact because today gold is still valuable and is used for many different purposes. Without gold, we wouldn't have some medicines and some electronics that we have today.
