Claudin de Sermisy was born on January 29th of 1490. He was born in France.

Some believe that Sermisy studied with Josquin des Prez. Becausse of his great talent, it is absolute that he absorbed ideas and information from somebody to influence for his future.

At 18, Claudin was appointined for a job as a singer for Louis XII in the Royal Chapel. He was also a cleric during this time. Surprisingly enough, he was given the job on his birthday.

In 1508 Claudine was selectected as a singer in Queene Anne of Brittany's private chapel. This oppritunity was a result of him singing in the Royal Chapel.

He went to Italy to discover new adventures and oppritunities. This was a great move for him because his future became even more bright with more and more available oppritunites.

In 1950 Sermisy was a part of the musical festivals at the Field of the Cloth of Gold. These were arranged by Francis I and HenryVIII of England and directed by Jean Mouton. Sermisy was almost certainly a singer in these fesivals.

Sermisy participated in a meeting between the kings held at Boulogne. He wrote a ceremonial motet for this event.

By this year, Sermisy was the Musical Director of the Royal Chapel. Here he was excpected to care for and teach the boys of the choir. He was also to recruite talented boys to join the choir.

He became the canon of of Sainte-Chapelle. This required him to move to Paris, France. There he lived in a very large house.

Claudine de Sermisy died in 1562. He was believed to be an active composer until his death. He was buried in the Sainte-Chapelle.
