Claude Debussy was born the 22nd of August 1862, in St. Germain-en-Laye in France.

When he was 10 years old his musical talent was discovered by his piano teacher, and he was sent to a conservatory in Paris.

Debussy won second prize in the Prix de Rome in 1883 and then in 1884, he won first prize with his composition L'enfant prodigue.

In 1900 he met and married Rosalie Texier. Sadly, the marriage to Rosalie Texier did not last. Debussy fell in love with singer Emma Bardac and later married her. He had a little daughter he called Chouchou and wrote some pieces especially for her.
