Fugitive Slave Act
North:Didn't like the fugitive slave act because, they couldn't help the slaves escape from their plantations.
South:Liked the fugitive slave act because, they could arrest free slaves in the north and take them back to slavery. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin
North:taught that the book spoke the truth and the southerners were very angry. A northerner wrote the book.
South:The book ,Uncle Tom's Cabin, made the south very angry because, slaves were starting to rebel.It also, showed the brutalness of the south on the slaves. -
John Brown's Raid
North:John Brown was a abolitionist and march in 1859, to start an armed revolt against slavery.
South: General Lee ended John Brown's raid on Oct,18 1859. Lee ended the raid by killing John Brown. -
Election of 1860
North:All the North voted for Abraham Lincoln and Lincoln won. South:Practically nobody in the South voted for Abraham Lincoln, but he still won because, the North had more voters. -
Fort Sumter
North: Was attacked. Lost alot of soildiers. South: Opened fire on the north at Fort Sumter, starting the war. -
54th Massachusetts Regiment
North:the north liked the 54th Massachusetts Regiment because, they helped the north fight and in return the north gave them freedom.
South: the south wanted to take the Regiment out because, the morth took away their slaves. -

North:helped them by, getting more voters for the north. South:they had to give ten percent of their voters to the Union, so that the union won every time. -
Wilderness Campaign
North: General Grant fought General Lee in the wilderness, and focused on his offense. it was a bloody battle.
South:General Lee fought to push back the Union out of the wilderness. -

North: the North ,with General Sherman, went 60 miles to the sea destroying everything in their path.
South: ruined th esouths hope of winning the war and left the south with like no supllies. -
Thirteenth Amendment
North:liked th eAmendment because, it helped some slaves gain freedom.
South:Did not like it because, it freed some slaves .they also were angry because, now they have to work. -
Surrender at Appromattox Courthouse
North:General Grant accepted the surrender and assured Lee that his troops would be feed.
South:General Lee surrenders to the north because, the north did Total War and the south didn't want to loose everything.
