    On April 12th, the Confederate Army opened fire on Fort Sumter at 2:30. Although there was only 1 casulty in this bombardment. This attack set the path of destruction known as the Civil War.

    Virginia votes to succeed to become part of the Confederacy. Virginia joins many other states. Virginia is the 8th state to seceed.

    Arkansas secedes from the U.S. to join the Confeneracy. Arkansas is the 9th state to seceed. They join SC, MI, FL, AL, GA, LA, TX, and Virginia.

    The South captures Harpers Ferry along with 12,500 union troops. Along with the capturing of the troops, they also took 13,000 small hand guns, 200 wagons, and 73 artillery pieces. There were also about 503 casualties.

    This is the first major battle of the Civil War on northern soil. It was one of the bloodiest single day battles in the entire war. There was about 23,000 casualties.

    The Battle of Chancellorsville was won by the Confederates. General Lee described this battle as "the perfect battle" for his army. But, Stonewall Jackson was mortally wounded in this battle. (Later Killed)

    This battle is widely known as the bloodiest battle in the Civil War. Also described as the wars "turning point". Victory came to the Union and ended Robert E. Lee's invasion into the North.

    A speech written and proclaimed by former President Abraham Lncoln. One of the largest known speeches in America. Delivered four mounths after the Union victory at Gettysburg.

    Lincoln won by over 400,000 popular votes, Easily won the electoral majority. 70% Of the soldiers in the army voted for him.
  • 13th Admendment

    13th Admendment
    The 13th Admendment offically abolished slavery in the United States. It was passed by Congress on April 8th, 1865. Later ratified by Congress on December 6th, 1865.
  • Lincoln Assassination.

    Lincoln Assassination.
    On that faithful night, Lincoln was without his main bodygaurd and abandon by his other bodyguard for a moment. At that time, approximately 10:13 pm, President Lincoln was shot in the back of the head, point-blank, by John Wilkes Booth. Seriously wounded, Lincoln passed the next day.
