    Lincoln won the 1860 election and was introduce as president in march of 1861. But many people didn't want Lincoln to be president like the southern states, they did not agree with his policies and decided to leave the country. This all happened after Lincoln won the election.

    Fort Sumter was the first battle of the American Civil War ( the start of the war ), it took over two days.
    April 12, 1861 General Beauregard sent Anderson a message saying he would fire in 1 hour if Anderson didn't surrender. The south fired first but no one died.

But not all slaves were free only the slaves in the Confederate states were free, bout 50,000 of the 4 million were set free, but for the southern states, the slaves wasn't free until the Union defeated the Confederacy.

Lee had enter the North and was trying to defeat the Union Army once and for all. This battle was one of the deadliest battle of the Civil War.

    The siege of Vicksburg was a major victory for the Union during the Civil War. This battle took much longer than any typical battle it began on may 18, 1863 and lasted over a month until July 4, 1863. through this war the city got worse and worse they began running out of food, they were trying to survive and started eating anything available, while this was happening the war was constantly being bombed. The union won the war , and it gave control of the Mississippi river to the union.

    President Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth on April 14,1865. Lincoln was the first president of the united states to be assassinated. Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theatre. There were several doctors with him, but they couldn't help him. President Abraham Lincoln died on April 15, 1865
