The election took place in august to mid october in the town of illinois. The election took years till they met again to see who would win the election. -

It was the first major battle of the civil war. They were going to fight in a small town in of manassas junction and neither army was trained to battle and then later on they fought but it was a short war. -

during the war they gained control of the mississippi river that would split the confederacy in two. they ended up opening routes into the western confederacy and after that it led to them to a move to the south. -

The union general george mcClellan was planning an attack on the confederacy capital at richmond. also at the time he was planning the attack he delayed it because he wanted more troops. -

Unions ironclad monitored the first battle between them and there was no winner although this was changed with naval warfare forever. -

This was the bloodiest day of the civil war. This battle was considered the union's victory. -

This battle is a major event because it helps out the union a lot which really affected the war and pulled a total turn on it. The union got the Mississippi river as well. -
Battle of Gettysburg
In the battle of gettysburg lee had decided to invade the north again and then the two armies met in gettysburg and had skirmish and that's what ended up leading to the historic three-day battle. -
Lincoln's Plan upsets Congress
Lincoln wanted to help the south once the war ended in which was called the reconstruction. -
The Election of 1864
The election of 1864 was the election between lincoln and george. lincoln had won the election easily and passed the thirteenth amendment that ended slavery. -
Lincoln is assassinated
Lincoln was unable to see the end of the war or any plans actually begin. He was killed by a southerner shot while watching a play. -
The War ends
The war started ending in 1864 when shermon and 60,000 troops set out to march across georgia to the sea and then in 1865 the long siege of petersburg ended up succeeding and the confederate leaders fled to richmond.
