    Fort Sumter took place on an island in South Carolina. The fort was there to guard the Charleston Harbor. It ended in a confederate victory.

    Emancipation Proclamation was made to declare that all slaves would be free in rebelling states.

    The war was a turning point for the Union. It was a Union Victory. The Union gained complete control of the Mississippi River.

    The Battle of Gettysburg took place in a small town called Gettysburg. Even though it was a three-day battle it was the bloodiest battle of all. It was a Union Victory.
