This battle was the worse Civil War there was. It was the bloodiest war. about 22,000 died because of this war. Abraham Lincoln the president won the Battle of Antietam. -
Battle of Fredericksburg
Was an big defeat to the union army, even though they outnumbered the confederates. Was assigned a low point for the union. And around 12,000 died. -
Emancipation Proclamation
Abraham Lincoln passed the Emancipation Proclamation. It came across the third bloodiest Civil War. The Emancipation Proclamation stated, ""that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." -

Located on the Mississippi river. both sides won. The anaconda plan was fulfilled, the union had complete control over the Mississippi river. -

54th Massachusetts Fight at Fort Wagner
This was a unsuccessful fight. It was located on Morris Island in South Carolina. Lost around 280 men and around 50 was killed and about 45 was injured. -

t stated that all men should be created equal. Also what stand out to me in it was when it says, "A new birth of freedom--and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from this earth." that stood out to me. -
Sherman’s March to the Sea
They had total war and that means that its against anything that supports the enemy and not just the enemy troops. His troops had destroyed a lot of stuff during the march. -
13th Amendment Passed
There was an election between Abraham Lincoln and McLellan. Abraham Lincoln did win. If he lost the war have end and allow slavery to continue. The 13th Amendment have been passed and it abolished slavery and prohibited involuntary servitude -
Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse
They both have surrendered. General Grants goal was to stop fighting and return home in peace.
