    Battle of Fort Sumter
    The Battle of Fort Sumter was between April 12th - 12th 1861. It took place in Charleston,South Carolina that started the Civil War. After this seven southern stats seceded. On Dec. 26, 1860 the army moved its command from Fort Moultrie to Fort Sumter. South Carolina government took all property in the Charleston area except for Fort Sumter.

    The Anaconda Plan played a big part in the battle. The blockade already was proclaimed by Lincoln, on Apr. 19,1861, about a week after the shots fired at Fort Sumter, he announced that the ports of all southern seceded states would be blockaded. The Anaconda Plan did not rescind until the end of the Civil War.

    The Battle of Shiloh was a major battle in the Civil war. It was fought April 6-7 1862 in southwestern Tennessee. The Union army under MG Grant fought Confederate army under Generals Sidney & Beauregard by surprise attack. The confederate army greatly advanced on the first day, but by the second day was defeated.

    While pursuing General Robert E. Lee to Maryland; the Union Army MG George B. McClellan pursued attacks against Lee's army at Antietam Creek. On Sep.17 MG Joseph Hooker sent troops on Lee's troops. Eventually the Union army defeated the Confederate army and eventually ending the battle.

    The Battle of Fredericksburg was fought through December 11 -15 1862. The battle was between Lee's confederate army and MG Burnside's union army. This battle is considered one of the most one-sided battles of the civil war due to the union casualties.

    The Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order proposed by Abraham Lincoln on Jan. 1,1863 during the Civil war. It proclaimed that 3.1 million of the total of 4 million slaves in the US where to be freed. It immediately freed 50,000 of them and the rest would be freed as the Union continued to have victories across the south.

Union army M.General Hooker's army fought General Lee's Confederate army during this battle.     The Sherman's March to the Sea is also called the Savannah Campaign. It took place during November 15 – December 21 1864. It was led by MG William T. Sherman, who was a MG of the Union Army in the Civil war. Sherman's sqaud captured the city Atlanta, GA on November 16. He destroyed most of the South's physical capacity to thrive in war.
