The declaration of independence says all men are created equal. It was a law to be passed that declared the segreagation of public schools was uncostitutional. Linda browns daughgter had to walk a really far wasy to school and her mom was very angry about it this was the case. -

Rosa parks got arrested beacuse she refused to give her bus seat to a white man. Martin luther king was the leader of this boycott. It was where african americans refused to ride any public busses this caused the bus companies to loose a lot of money. -

Martin Luther king was the leader who came up with the non vilent movement called sit ins. It was where african americans would go into a restraunt of public place and just sit down. Whites would beat them and say hateful things to them. -

President Kennedy signed this order. It required govt. empolhyees to not discriate an applicant of employee by race, creed, color, or national origin. It made sure they recieved the same tbhigns as whites like salary increases and promtions, ect. -

He was the head of the NAACP in Mississippi. He was killed by Byron De Beckwith. He was a traget for those who opposed equality. -
Youth March in Birmingham
Thisis a march where children fought for civil rights. A police chief called bull Conner used high pressure water hoses and police dogs to stop the march. Thousands were arrested. -
24th Ammendment
It gave african Americans the right to vote for president of in any election. It outlawed poll taxes in elections. The states had the right to inforce it or not. -
Freedom Summer
There goal was to register African Americans to vote in Mississippi. They tried to establish schools for African American Children. 3 civil right workers were killed. -
Civil Rights Act of 1964
It was a law that outlawed discrimation of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. It outlawed whtie only faciities. It banned gender discriaination in hiring. -
March Against Fear
Activist James Meredith was in charge. They were to walk a distancfe of 220 miles from Memphis to Jackson. James meredith was shot on the second day of the march. -
Poor Peoples Campaign
