    This is a group of 9 African American students enrolled in Little Rock High School, and the Little Rock Crisis was a protest that prevented the students from entering the school due to white students preventing them from entering.

    Ruby Bridges was a African American child attending school and was walked to school everyday for a year by 4 Marshalls.

    Written by MLK, it is an open letter book.Very important to the Civil Rights era,
  • Civil Rights Act of 1964

    This act prohibits the discrimination of Race, Sex, Color, National Origin, and later down the line covers Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation.

    Vocal spokesman for Islam, received death threats multiple times, finally assassinated in New York.

    Political organization created to challenge police brutality against the African American committee.
  • Thurgood Marshall named to the Supreme Court

    Played a part as the first African American on the Supreme Court. Promoted racial equality. Argued 32 cases, and won 29 of them.
  • Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr

    American Civil Rights speaker for African Americans. His assassination was due to the murderer being a racist and him having towards hatred towards MLK.
  • Election of Barack Obama

    First African American as president. Proved to African Americans that they could do anything anybody else did.
