Columbus was born in 1451 in the Republic of Genoa, Italy.

Columbuses first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean was in 1476. On this voyage, he barely made it because while he was sailing his ship. was attacked by French privateers. His ship was burned and Columbus had to swim back to shore.

Him and his wife had one son, Diego. Soon after his wife died and he moved to Spain.

Then in 1488 he had a second son.

In late August 1492, Columbus left Spain from the port of Palos de la Frontera and went to find the new world.

Columbus found Bahamas, he's discovered the new world.

He was one of the few that actually came back to Spain.

Columbus traveled along the eastern coast of Central America searching for a route to the Indian Ocean but it was unsuccessful. During the voyage one of his ships wrecked in a storm.
