  • 2

    The finders die

Some fishermen and fisherwomen find the Sunstone and the Scroll but are quickly dispatched by guards who notice the explosion of magic and the guards take the scroll and the stone to King Saran.
  • 3

    A friend dies

Princess Amari sees her friend touch the scroll just before a beautiful white light of magic explodes from her hands, followed almost immediately by King Saran's sword piercing her heart and blood exploding from her mouth, causing Amari to steal the scroll and run away.

    Zelie meets Amari

While Zelie is selling her Sailfish in Lagos, she is confronted by Amari who had the scroll and was trying to escape the guards.
  • 4

    Trio on the run

Amari Zelie and Tzain escape Lagos with the scroll, causing a "heated" scene when Zelie throws a Molotov at the guards blocking the exit.
  • 5

A village burns to no avail.

Prince Inan, who was also the captain of the small force of men and women he took to retrieve the scroll, kill Zelie and take Amari back home, along with Admiral Kaea, burn Ilorin to the ground while searching for the group. The fire, however, was caused prematurely by a soldier who ended up getting a brutal beating by Admiral Kaea afterwards for starting the fire too soon and without the order to do so.

Zelie Amari and Tzain set off to Chandomble

After Ilorin burns and Zelie tries to kill Amari under the influence of rage and grief due to Zelie thinking that her family had died in the fire, stopping just short when she hears her family yelling at her to stop, the trio sets out to a temple named Chandomble, with Inan, Kaea and a small group of soldiers in pursuit.
  • 6

    Gathering Supplies

Since the way to Chandomble is long, the trio needs to gather supplies and so they stop in a small trading village named Sokoto.
  • 7

    Chandomble

The trio makes it to Chandomble, Inan not far behind, tracking Zelie's soul using his powers as a newly awakened Connector--Maji of Mind Spirit and Dreams. After they arrive they are knocked out by the only Sentaro left alive. After they awake and tell him their story, he tells them of a ritual to bring magic back to all and awakens Zelie as the next Mamalawo. About that time, Inan and his troops arrive at the temple after which Kaea kills the Sentaro while he is helping them escape.

    The Obtaining

The trio arrives at Ibeji, a small town in the middle of an unforgiving desert, where the Sentaro believed the Sunstone to be, where they end up entering a "competition" which was really just a giant, multi-team, death-battle in which the winner took the Sunstone, called "The Stone of Immortality" by the "host". Nobody had won yet, and since the trio failed to steal it, they had to win it. In the end, Zelie almost died three times, but they still won the stone thanks to her and her powers.

    The Journey Continues

Racing against the clock to arrive before the end of the month and having obtained the Sunstone, the trio continues on their journey to the sacred island where they will bring magic back for good, with Inan chasing them most of the way. Inan eventually catches up with them and he starts fighting Zelie. While the two fight masked men take Amari and Tzain forcing Zelie and Inan to work together to save them, finding new allies in the process.
  • 10

    Taken and Tortured

The group had a celebration that was cut short when the Royal Guards started killing the new allies and took Zelie to a nearby town to be "interrogated" while Inan is forced to act like he's working against them again, Tzain and Amari do there best to break her free, using the help of one of Tzain's Diviner friends by awakening him and a few others and then charging the place that Zelie is being held and tortured. For torture, the King ordered the word "Maggot" carved into Zelie's back.
  • 13

    The Journey Nears an End

After Zelie is rescued and Inan decides to stay back, claiming to help them from the inside, Zelie is healed by a Healer she realizes her magic is gone after her torture but says nothing about it to anyone. In order to get to the island, they enlist the help of a man called "The Silver-eyed Foxer" and use his boat to get halfway there before managing to take over a royal ship in a fleet heading to the same island. While on their way to the island, Zelie tells Amari about her magic's absence.
  • 14

    The Ambush

When the group arrives at the island, they disguise themselves as soldiers in the army and make their way into the ritual temple, sending a couple of the others to be a distraction. As they make it to the area, they are ambushed by the King with some soldiers and Inan, holding Zelie's father captive. She is forced to hand over the ritual objects to save her father, but as they are walking away, her father is struck down by an archer, causing her magic to come back in its most dangerous form.
  • 15

    The Slaughter

Using her magic, she creates two shadows that pierce through the guards' armor and bodies like a knife through hot butter and used them to kill the guards, Inan, seeing the blind rage that was fighting with, held the scroll up to his chest and caused her to destroy it with the shadows. After this, the King found out that Inan was also a Maji and killed him, Amari saw this and then fought her father, killing him.
  • 16

    The Ritual

After Zelie realized what she had done, she tried to do the ritual without the scroll, using only the sunstone. Being a Reaper, she was able to hear the souls of every Maji that ever died as well as every Mamalawo. Not knowing the ritual herself, she used the knowledge of her ancestors to complete it. The ritual required blood magic to complete, the same magic that had almost killed her just days before. This time it did kill her. Somehow she came back to life.

    The Result

After she awoke, she found out that the ritual had not only succeeded in bringing magic back to all Diviners but had brought magic back to everyone, Diviners and Yoruba alike.
