  • Speaking saying simple babbles

  • Sitting and Rolling Around

  • Throwing, banging, dropping, and shaking any item I could grab

  • Walking

  • Using own utensils and able to drink from own cup

  • Running and Using Stairs

  • Talking with regularity, saying things like "Mama" and "Thank You"

  • My playtime with other kids increased due to daycare

  • I was running, jumping, and hopping about during this time

  • During this time I was imaginary playing baseball which is normal during this time

  • In the book it says that children will be very emotional and my Mom says I went through many emotions during this phase

  • In the book it says that kids become evident of time and my Mom says this was very apparent with me

  • By 5, I weighed 39 pounds. A little low for this age group

  • I am also able to recognize body parts and draw people

  • My Mom claims I wouldn't shut up at this age which is evident because kids at this age know around 2,500 words

  • The book also says that kids need to learn with conflict and I was left with problems to solve on my own

  • Could dribble a basketball with one hand which shows the hand eye coordination that develops during this time

  • In the book it says that kids start to love school and this when I defnitely started to like learning

  • Kids shy away from affection with their parents within this time and I definitely did this

  • Kids become aware of sexuality. Mom told me about a time I called a kid a "queer" and she was mortified

  • Kids either love school or hate school during this time and I loved school

  • Class clowns become apparent during this time and I was a large class clown

  • In the book it talks about clumsiness in sports but I never experienced because I never had a growth spurt

  • Puberty starts now for most kids....not for me haha

  • Waking up for kids is hard at this age and I definitely struggled with that

  • Emotional / Social Developement of Adolescence

  • During this time, teenagers thinking will begin to consider the future and I noticed this with myself

  • Most teenagers will have problems with their parents and give them the silent treatment but I never did this

  • Peer pressure is a heavy influence on teenagers during these years and I definitely gave into it
