Thousands of high school students in East Losa Angeles started a series of walk-outs from their schools to protest against the racial discriminated within schools. -
Grape Boycott
Farm workers were sent to cities all over the United States to organise the boycott. Mexican Americans and supporters staged protests at grocery stores pressuring people not to buy and sell grapes. -
The Strike Ends
Grape growers were unable to sell their grapes to many stores. Under pressure, grape growers agreed to sign a contract with the union, ending the strike.
