The Curse of the Billy Goat is a sports-related curse that was supposedly placed on the Chicago Cubs in 1945 when Billy Goat Tavern owner Billy Sianis was asked to leave a World Series game. When the goat got home, it knocked the heating lamp over to cause the Chicago Fire. The Cubs have not won the World Series since. The goat's name was Murphy
