  • Treaty of Versailles

The Treaty of Versailles is the treaty that was created by the allies to restrict Germany's military, blame them for World War One, and to make Germany pay for all the damages caused during the war. This leads to World War Two because the treaty crushes Germany's economy which helps Hitler rise to power and start World War Two.
  • The Great Depression

The Great Depression spread throughout many countries in the world after World War One concluded. Germany was hit hard by the Great Depression, and at one point the unemployment rate in Germany was at 30%. Tis leads to the NAZI party going into power because of Hitler's promises to lead Germany out of their economic depression
  • Militarization of Rhineland

After the allied troops left Rhineland in 1930, the Germans break the treaty of Versailles by sending troops to take over Rhineland. The French and British did nothing.
  • Anschluss

Austria joins Germany. Germany had been supporting the Austian Nazi party, so that the German Nazi party could take power from the Austrian government. This was a violation of the Treaty of Versailles, and Britain and France do nothing. This leads to Germany having more power, and knowing that they could break the treaty without being punished. This makes the Germans more confident in their military.
  • Munich Pact

The Munich Pact entitled Germany a part of Czehcoslovakia, as long as Germany did not continue the invasion of Czechoslovakia. In 1939, Germany breaks the pact and invades all of Czechoslovakia and Poland. This causes France and Britain to declare war two days after the invasion of Ploand.
  • German invasion of Poland

Germany attacks Poland. The Polish military is no match for the Germans, and they keep getting pushed farther and farther back. This causes both the French and United Kingdom to declare war on Germany because of their pacts with Poland. (example of the alliance system) This invasion is basically the beggining of World War Two.
