  • Charles Darwin Beagle Expedition

    The Beagle Voyage was an expedition that took place between February 1832 and September 1835 throughout various areas of South America. In South America Charles Darwin collected fossils in which he used as evidence that the land was changing and rising. He also observed that some animals such as birds were built different due to their environment.

    Charles Darwin published his book Origin of Species in November 24th 1859. In this book he discusses his findings that he collected from the Beagle Expedition as well as his Theory of Evolution.     The legacy of Charles Darwin carried on after he died. The Scopes Trial occurred due to a public school teacher in Tennessee was teaching Darwin's theory of evolution. Sparking national debate as well as a new interest in the theory. With scientific advancements scientists were able refine it and solve the natural selection process. Evolution was widely accepted as the explanation for life on Earth and gave humans hope humans would continue to evolve and progress.
