    The Treaty of Paris was signed in Paris by the representatives of King George III and the United Stated of America. This treaty ended the revolutionary war between the two countries.

  • Treaty of Fort Stanwix

    In this treaty members of the Iroquois surrendered claims to land in western Pennsylvania and Ohio.

  • Land Ordinance of 1785

    The land ordinance set up a standardized system in which settlers could purchase title to farmland in the undeveloped west.
