    In 1570 the Iroquois Confederacy was a confederation of Native American Indians and was originally made up of five tribes known as - Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga and Seneca peoples.

  • The first Africans arrive in Virginia

    In 1619 the first African Americans arrive in Virginia. Many slaves died on the ship in the journey to Virginia.
  • The first navigation act regulates colonial trade

    The first navigation act regulates colonial trade
    England's American colonies could only export their goods in English ships which was caused by the first navigation act regulates colonial trade.

  • Bacon's Rebellion takes place in Virginia

    Bacon's rebellion of 1676 caused and developed high taxes but low cost in tobacco and was led by Nathaniel Bacon.
  • The French and Indian war begins

    The French and Indian war begins
    The French and Indian was begins and was cause by the expansion of land which lead to the war know as the French and Indian war.

  • King George issues Proclamation of 1763

    King George issues the Proclamation of 1763 and which prohibited the American colonists from settling west of Appalachia.
  • Treaty of Paris signed

    Treaty of Paris signed
    The Treaty of Paris was signed by representatives of King George III of Great Britain and representatives of the United States of America. On the date of September 3, 1783 the American Revolutionary War ended.

  • Colonist protest the Stamp Act

    On the year of 1765 Colonist protest the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act required the American colonists to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.(newspapers, ship papers, etc)
  • Boston Massacre occurs

    The Boston Massacre occurred on the year of 1770. The Boston Massacre was a big fight where people were in big mobs and it was a huge massacre. It "led to a campaign by speech-writers to rouse the ire of the citizenry."(from google www.ushistory.org/declaration/related/massacre.html)
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party took place in the year of 1773. The quote “taxation without representation” was a big deal within the Boston Tea Party. Colonist dumped 342 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • First Continental Congress meets

    In the year of 1774 the First Continental congress meets. The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from twelve out of the thirteen colonies.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord occur

    On the year 1775 the Battles Battles of Lexington and Concord occurred. It was the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War and was fought in Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy, and Cambridge. The Americans successfully won the battle.
