    On August 18th 1920, Women gained the right to vote in the United States. This is an extremely important event, because before this, women were denied the right to vote even though they should have been considered equal citizens to men. When this was ratified, our country took a huge step forwards in terms of equality.

    On March 23, 1933 Hitler was officially elected to become the Chancellor of Germany with all power that he chose to have. The importance is that Hitler becomes one of the most fierce and feared dictators ever, and pushes Germany into the Holocaust which was one of the reasons that World War II was fought.
