In 114 AD, The Romans created most capital letters, almost all of their shapes had been formed by then. When they first created the English alphabet, I belive there were only 23 letters. The last 3 came later on in the Middle Ages.

Starting in 401-500 AD, the Romans created the J, U and W to the English alphabet. The rest of the alphabet came long before, but the J, U and W waited until the Middles Ages. All names starting with one of those three leters were concidered graceful.

The Roman alphabet was made in the 5th century, around 450 AD. It only had 20 letters. It was missing G, J, U, W, Y and Z. Here is what it looked like:

The Romans also borrowed letters of the Greek alphabet, which added the G, Y and Z into the alphabet. -
In the 15th century (1401-1500) cursive became very popular and people used it tons. Cursive is a type of writing that is fancier than normal writing. Letters are connected, it still has the same 26 letters but when you write a word or letter you connect the letters and make more loops. With cursive you can make uppercase or lowercase. Most times if there are uppercase or if it's the start of a sentence, the uppercase letter isn't connected. This is because there is no way to connect them.

In 2013, there are 26 letters of the Anglish alphabet. The uppercase way is: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z.
Now here are the lowercase letters, very similar just a little smaller and it might be changed a tad.

In current day, we have multiple ways to write. Of course, regular uppercase and lowercase letters. But there are also bubble letters/block letters. These are often used for decorative things. Many people also learn how to do cursive in elementary school, when they are in 3rd or 4th grade typically.

In 2050, We think the alphabet will have less letters or the letters might have chamged their form a little bit. Now, the letters are straight and there are upercase and lownercase. By then there will be new and improved letters! For example, there could be accents or changed a letter here, or took a letter out there.
