There was no exact surrender but the Treaty of Paris was signed February 10, 1763 to end the Seven Years War -
Proclamation of 1763
King George the III issued a proclamation amongst the colonists. This closed lands north and west of the Appalachian Mountains for colonists to settle. The goal of the British was to put a stop to conflicts that had arisen between the Native Americans and the colonists due to the French and Indian War. -
