    Scott had abolitionist attorneys file a law suit for him. This went to the Supreme Court but he lost. The court said that Scott was not a citizen but he was property. In addition they ruled that Congress could not ban slavery, Southerners loved this but Northerns did not.

    John Brown started the murdering all over again and led five blacks and thirteen whites into Harper's Ferry. In addition he even got arrested at this time but a lot of his men died.

    This election was between Lincoln and Douglass. A lot of the southern Staes did not like Lincoln and did not agree on what he believed. When Lincoln was elected as president Southerns were very angry.
