The Quarter Quell, a special hunger games with a twist rule, happens every 25 years. This year, it is announced that the tributes will be reaped from the existing pool of victors. Katniss is going back to the arena.

The tributes all train for the games. Katniss has trouble making friends with the other Tributes, but has some success with the weaker ones.

Let the games begin. While katniss is brought into the arena, gaurds beat Cinna to death while she watches, helpless. This fazes her and influences her judgement.

Katniss and her allies, Peeta, Finnick, and Mags, awake to a poisonous fog approaching them. Mags sacrafices herself to save the rest of the group. They team up with Johannah, Wiress, and Beetee.

A large fight occurs in the arena, leaving eveyone disoriented. Katniss shoots an arrow at the force field around the arena, causing a large explosion.

Katniss wakes up in a hovercraft on its way to District 13. She finds out that Peeta was captured by the capital, and that District 12 was destroyed.
