    While I was in Kindergarten, my mom would hold up flashcards of color words with the colors that represented the word on them, and I would recite them while I was in the bath.

    While in Kindergarten, we had to bring home sight words to learn how to make complex sentences and were able to make meanings from these sight word cards.

    Starting in first grade, I was assesed and started reading books for AR, which helped me visualize what I was reading and interpret the meaning behind the novel.
