    First Flight This first flight took place at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The Wright Brothers made a plane out of wood and with a few motors that flew 120 meters. The significance to the 1920's is that it took away from the railroad industry and added a new form of transportation which quickly expanded. This historic event is a landmark that deeply effected the next few decades in aviation which helped thousands roar into the skies.

    The invention of the Model T was monumental. Although it wasn't the first car made, it was the first mass produced, reliable, and cost apporpriate car on the market. The widespread use paved the way for suburbs because people could now drive to work. Major infrastructure plans were undertaken to make highways and other things necessary for mass transportation with cars. This made the 1920's roaring because of the change it brough to everyday life which included vacations and where people lived.

    The first cargo plane was a factor in the decline of the railroad. Now, mail, produce, and goods could be flown to market much faster, things could be done and delivered in a more timely manor. This took away much of the purpose of the railroad, cargo delivery, and also much of its market. This event contributed to the roarin 20's by continuing the innovations made in aviation and creating a more global market because planes could fly international whereas trains couldn't.

    The use of planes in WW1 was mainly experimental, but they did make many people question if its creation was beneficial due to its versatile capabilities in war. This did pave the way for the major use of planes in WW2 because many faults such as small fuel tanks and artillary were changed and improved upon. The main impact was its increased popularity which reached new heights. This impaced the roarin 20's by helping with job production in a new military branch and also in plane shows.

    Ford started with the Model T for Military use only. Ambulences on the battle field helped to transport wounded much faster which saved countless lives. Ford used its success in the military as a testement to its durability and funcionability. The model T was then used in emergencies such as fires to help transport people. The use here was as good as in the military and helped to get many people to safety and medical help fast. This helped to make the 1920's roarin by creating a safer america.

    In the early 1920s, when car sales continued to increase, banks and manufacturers began to encourage Americans to buy the "car of their dreams" on credit. Therefore, more and more Americans began buying nicer, more extravagant cars that they would pay off. Cars were starting to be seen as not only modes of transportation, but as items to show your wealth. This helped the economy becasue people were paying up to 30 percent interest on cars that were on credit.

    Charles Lindbergh Flight over Atlantic
    Charles Lindbergh was the first person to be in Paris one day and in New York the next all becasue of a plane. By traveling across the Atlantic ocean in a plane in 33 hours he further expanded the possibilites of air travel. This flight showed many advancements for air transportation. A watch was created that made certain parts of flying easier for pilots and many other things were discovered and improved.

    Cars claim Popularity over Trains
    By 1930 there was an average of about one car per family in America. Cars were proven to be more efficient than trains. You had the freedom to go where you wanted when you wanted, and you didn't have to adjust your schedule to the train scheldule. Due to the increase in cars, during the 1920s, the amount of roads and highways doubled. The beggining of how we live today started in the 1920s.
