    Carolus Linnaeus, also know as Carl Linnaeus is often called the father of Taxonomy was born on May 23,1707 Råshult, Småland, Sweden. His father Ingemarsson Linnaeus, was an enthusiastic garden and Lutheran Pastor his mother Christina Brodersonia was a housewife and stayed at home.     He grew up in Småland a small region in Sweden. Linnaeus had a early interest in botany which was influenced by his teacher at his school Växjö Gymnasium, who explained to him with the play system of French botanist and physician Joseph Pitton de Tournefort, an essay on plant gender by French botanist Sébastian Vaillant and the physiological writings of Dutch physician and professor of medicine Herman Boerhaave.     In 1727 Linnaeus began his studies in medicine at Lund University, but later on he was transferred to Uppsala University which is the most prestige university in Sweden. In 1728, Linnaeus could only go to some lectures due to his financial difficulties. Although he couldn’t go to lectures the university professor Olof Celsius provided Linnaeus access to the library.     In 1732 Linnaeus was given the opportunity on a research expedition in Lapland. After his arrival, he gave private lectures on botany and mineral assaying. That Christmas Linnaeus used his earnings to visit his friend and fellow student Claes Sohlberg, in Falun, Dalarna, Sweden. Solhberg’s father who was the royal inspector of the Falun copper mine was amazed by Linnaeus’s botanical and mineralogical abilities,this let Linnaeus go to Netherlands as Solhberg’s father payed for all the medical expenses.In return Linnaeus took Sohlberg on a trip and serve as his educational mentor.

    A few days after Linnaeus reach the Dutch town Harderwijk in May 1735, Linnaeus completed his exams and earned his medical degree. After that, in advance he prepared the topic of coming and going fevers. He set his journey to Leiden with Sohlberg where Linnaeus published many manuscripts which went famous and was successful.
