Cervical cancer is detected using a Pap test. It should be done every 2-3 years.

Endometrial, or uterine, cancer can be tested for with a pap test as well. It should be performed first at age 21 and every 2-3 years after that.

Mammograms can be used to detect breast cancer. Women should start getting mammograms at age 50 and every year after that.

Colorectal cancer can be detected using a colonoscopy. Men and women should begin getting colonoscopies at age fifty and every ten years after that (or sooner if suggested by doctor).

Yearly fecal occults can also be used to detect colorectal cancer in men and women. They should have their first test at age 50 and every year after that.

Prostate cancer is detected by a digital rectal exam, transrectal ultrasound, or a prostate specific antigen blood test. These tests should begin at age 50 and continue yearly.
