    India Act of 1858
    The British government took control of India from the East India Company. Power was distributed to a Viceroy who was the most powerful and had to approve on laws and regulations, and a council of Indians that had no power.
  • India Councils Act of 1892

    India Councils Act of 1892
    This act added more members the the Viceroy's council. The members had to be recommended and still obtains little to no power.
  • Indian Councils Act of 1909

    Indian Councils Act of 1909
    This act allowed the members of the Viceroy's council to suggest bills and discuss budgets, but the Viceroy could down proposals without reason , and the council members could not embarrass the government.
  • Indian Act of 1919

    Indian Act of 1919
    This act allowed more male Indians to vote; which, expanded the precent of Indians whocould vote to 10%. However, seperate electorials were given to diffrent groups or communities of people.
  • India Act of 1935

    India Act of 1935
    This act made India a federation of 11 provinces and over 500 Indiann princely states.
