Imperialism is a type of Empire formed by a ruler. The name had come from the Latin word "imperium", meaning to rule over large territories. Imperialism's so called policy had extended the country's power to convince other colonizations to join. reason how the U.S. formed. They would use military forces, have meetings. The Progressive Era
The Progressive Era was a time of uncertainty. The whole reason the Porgressie Movement happened, was to end corruption in the governmet. To do this they took down political machines and they're bosses. Many U.S. citizens supported prohibition in the USA so tey can destroy the political power of local bosses. Many activist joined efforts to reform local goverment, public education, medicine, finance, insurance, industry, railroads, churches, and many other areas. -
The Roaring Twenties
In the 1920's it was known for it's dramatic social and political change. More Amaricans moed to the city and less lived in farm lands. he nations toal wealth had doubled during 1920 and 1920. People fomcoast to coast bought the same goods because of advertising and the spread of chain stores. People started to listen to the same music and dance the same. Alot of Amaricans did not like this so call new, urban, sometimes racy, mass culture, bringing more conflict in "The Roaring Twenties". -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression was the biggest economic downturn that lasted a long time in the Western industrialized workd. In the U.S., the great depression began soon after the stock markets crashed. Sending Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of inventors. -
World War II
After "WWI" came "WWII" a global war that lasted from 1941 to 1945. It involved most of the world's nations, including all of the great powers, eventually forming two opposing military alliances call the Allies and the Axis. It was the most widespread war in history, and involved about 100 million people from over 300 countries. -
The Cold War
Growing out of "WW2" the United States and the Soviet Union that lasted most of the 20th century resulted in mutual suspicions, more tesions to occur and a bunch of incidents hat rought the world's superpowrs to the brink of disaster. -
The Fifties
During the 50's the Baby Boom took place. It was when soldiers have returned home from the war. Had alot of mony saved up and decided to start a family. about 1 baby was work every minute or so. letting the children grow up and leave leasure time to go out to dreive in movies, bowling, get cars, fishing -
Civil Rights Era
The "Civil Rights Era" was a mass protest movement against racial segregation in the southern United States during the mid-1950's. The South achieved the most important breakthrough in equal-rights legislation for African Americans, by then militant black acivists had begun to see their struggle as a freedom or liberation movemen no just seeking civil rights reforms but instread confronting the enduring economic, political, and cultures. -
Vietnam
The Vietnam war was a very long war which was very costly for weapons. North Vietnam and its southern allies, known as the Viet Cong, got against South Vietnam and its principal ally, The U.S.
