She died from appendicitis. Boy's dad was very sad. -

Kindergarten
Boy attends kindergarten at age 6-7. -
Boy attends Llandalf Cathedral school
This is Boy's first school that he attends at age 7. He stops attending later on after pulling a prank on the owner of a candy shop, Mrs. Pratchett, with a group of friend. -
Boy gets homesick
Boy is homesick, he tries to pretend to have appendicitis and gets sent home! -
Great mouse plot
Boy and a group of friends pulled a prank on an evil owner of a candy shop. He and his friends put a dead rat in one of the candy jar and almost gives her a heart attack. They all get paunful spankings for doing so. His mother is enraged by such dastardly punsihment, and takes him out of the school. -
St. Peters
Boy attends St. Peters for the next 5 years. The school is much worse than what he expected, he was inflicted beatings and treated terribly by his teachers and the Matron. -
Boy almost loses his nose
On his school break, his half sister takes the family on a drive in her new car. She loses control and crashes it, sending everyone flying. Boy went through the windshield with a sliced off nose. Luckily he got to the doctor in time to stitch it back on. -
Boy's half-sister gets engaged.
The family all go to Norway for the sister's wedding. They all play a trick on a man involving goats and tobbaco. -
Attending Repton
Boy has the choice of going to anew school, either Repton or Marlborough. He chooses Repton because it is easier to say. At Repton he would experience more beatings and boazers. Boazers were older boys that would beat the younger boys. Boazers had the power to send you to the headmaster unless you did what they said. -
Fagging
Boy becomes a fag, which was a servant of an older boy, sometimes a boazer. A boazer named Wilberforce made him be his toilet seat warmer! -
Roald and Cadbury's
Cadbury's a chocolate manufacturer sent free chocolate bars to the boys of Repton. They would rate them from 1-10. Roald got his udea for his book Charlie and the chocolate factory from realizing that many chocolate comapnies had inventing rooms. -
Games and photography
Boy becomes captain of Fives and Squash-raquets. He was very good at these sports, but did not become a boazer which is usually what the captains become. He was also talented in photography, and won prizes and medals. -
Goodbye school
Boy leaves school and decides to go straight to work and no college. -
Shell
Roald joins Shell, who only accepted the best of the best. He delivered kerosene to numerous places. -
Norway exploration
Roald joins an exploration society and made a hard trip to Newfoundland. -
World war 2
After a big expedition at Africa learning a lot, he joins the second world war and becomes a fighter pilot.
